Harvesting and storing : Harvest early as regular beans when the seeds are the thickness of the bean (so not yet sticking out). The normal harvest allows the fruit to mature or to eat bean without pod. The pods are then 15 to 20 cm. Pick from the bottom up. Pick regularly, this stimulates the plant to continue producing. Harvest by giving the stem a twist away from the plant. After harvesting, throw the foliage on the compost heap. The foliage is bursting with nitrogen for your plants the following year. Be sure to leave the roots of the plant in the ground, they are full of nitrogen.
