Khaki hybrid - Diospyros kaki x virginiana 'Russian Beauty' - 2 liter pot
A hybrid, cold-hardy (-32 °C) and parthenocarpic variety. This means that it does not need a pollinator to form fruit. This tree forms fruit from a young age and is known for the excellent taste quality and early ripening of its kakis. It is a delicious fruit that is best when overripe, from mid-November, usually after the first frost. In autumn, the foliage takes on shades of yellow-orange to red, providing beautiful colours in the garden. Kakis grow to trees of about 4-6 metres high and like to be in the sun.
Young plants are more sensitive to frost, so they still need protection for the first few years.
