Purple garlic plant - 'Primor' Hardneck (choose number of bulbs)

Primor Hardneck is a purple garlic. In each garlic bulb are about 8-10 large light pink cloves.

  • Planting period : in open ground, from October to mid-November
  • Planting distance : 15 cm between plants, 25 cm between rows
  • Planting depth : 5 to 10 cm deep (the looser your soil, the deeper you can plant them)
  • Harvest end of June-mid August

There are 2 types of garlic seed potatoes: hardneck and softneck.

  • The garlic we know from the supermarket and from the garden centre if nothing is mentioned is 'softneck' garlic. The foliage is quite flexible compared to the garlic bulb. The softneck garlic has a clove or 10-14.
  • The hardneck garlic is smaller in bulb but has 6 to 8 larger cloves and is also easier to peel. A flower stalk also forms in the center, which in this case is no problem at all and comes naturally.

The Primor Hardneck is a hardneck garlic variety that is very suitable for use as fresh spring garlic. The flower stalk can be used like spring onion or leek (harvest around May/June). Afterwards you can of course harvest the garlic as a bulb with 6 to 8 delicious large cloves of garlic.
