Tips and care

• Planting: plant the gladiolus bulbs from March to May once the risk of night frost has passed. Choose a sunny spot with well-drained, nutritious soil and plant them about 10 cm deep.

• Maintenance: ensure moderately moist soil, especially during bud formation. Provide some support for tall stems in windy locations to prevent them from blowing over.

• Overwintering: as a gladiolus is not hardy, dig up the bulbs before the first frost. Store them in a cool, frost-free, and dark place after drying.

• Garden beds or pots: highly suitable for group planting in the border or in spacious, deep patio pots.
