Marigold BIO

The Marigold is easy to grow and blooms from June to October. This plant with orange flowers is often used as a border plant along the houses or as a flavouring in stew. One bag is for approximately 4m2, and the planting distance is 20x20 cm.

The annual marigold is easy to grow, a beautiful ornamental plant and also suitable for medicinal and cosmetic applications. Blooms with single orange flowers with a dark heart. Flowering period from June to October. Also known as a border plant along the houses against ants. Very suitable as a cut flower. But the marigold can also serve as an enrichment of your food, for example as decoration, flavouring in stews or as leaves for tea.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
