Low trunk 80cm high - 5 litre pot. The Red Boskoop apple tree is a robust tree that produces large, reddish-brown apples with a fresh, tart flavour, perfect for both cooking and baking. The apples have firm flesh and are rich in vitamin C. Red Boskoop grows well in nutritious, well-drained soil and needs a sunny to semi-shaded position. The tree is not self-pollinating and needs another apple tree such as Golden Delicious or Elstar nearby for pollination. Pruning in winter stimulates growth and increases fruit production. Harvesting takes place from October. Red Boskoop is loved for its winter hardiness and versatility.

Low stem means that the tree is grafted onto a slow growing rootstock, which means that the trees bear fruit faster and grow less tall. The advantages of this are that they are suitable for smaller (vegetable) gardens, so that you can grow more varieties in the same space. It is also handy that you can harvest easily, safely and without a long ladder.

In the fall, the soil is still warm and moist, which means the trees will take root well in the soil. Plants that are planted in the fall have a better developed root system than plants that are planted in the spring. They will also grow better and can better withstand periods of drought. Because the trees are delivered in pots, they can be planted all year round.
