Zucchini 'Ola Gabriella F1' BIO

Courgette 'Ola Gabriella F1' is a strong plant that produces new fruits throughout the season. The fruits are yellow and have a delicious mild sweet taste. Harvest at a length of 20-25 cm. One bag is for approximately 6m2, and the planting distance is 140x60 cm.

'Ola Gabriella F1' is a very productive, yellow courgette with a mild, sweet flavour. Because the fruit development is steady, the courgettes can easily remain on the plant for an extra day without this being at the expense of productivity. This gives you more flexibility in your harvest. The fruits, which are best harvested at a length of 20-25 cm, have a fine texture and a mild, sweet flavour.
• Early fruiting
• Highly productive
• Flexibility in harvesting
• Plant type: Bush
• 10,000-12,000 plants/ha

Please note: stress can cause the courgette to turn green. Extreme heat or too much or too little water will cause the 'Ola Gabriella F1' to display the characteristics of the parent plants. Yellow courgettes tend, especially under stress, to produce a green head due to green genes in the background.

This hybrid variety has been developed for professional organic cultivation. Pre-sowing for cultivation in a greenhouse can be done as early as April.

For cultivation in the open ground, pre-sowing can be done in May. Planting out can be done as soon as three leaves have developed. The plants grow in any well-fertilized soil and prefer to be sheltered from the wind. Do not make the soil too wet after pre-sowing. The plants are not resistant to night frost.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
