Brussels sprouts 'Hemera F1' is a real winter variety for harvest in January, February and March. The variety is suitable for cleaning and has a high frost and bolting tolerance. The sprouts ripen evenly so that they can be picked in one go, but picking them through is also certainly possible. In this case, the largest sprouts are always picked from the bottom, and then again every 2 to 3 weeks. You can also harvest the sprouts with the stem and possibly sell them like that; then they have a better shelf life, it saves a lot of cold picking work, it looks nice and it is a nice job for the customers. Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
