Brussels sprouts 'Irene F1' is a plant with a high bolting tolerance. It is an early and productive variety. The round sprout has a good shelf life. The sprouts are harvested from the bottom of the plant. One bag is for approximately 10 m2, and the planting distance is 75x40 cm.

Brussels sprouts 'Irene F1' is an early variety. Productive with a mild flavour. Round sprout with a good shelf life. High bolting tolerance. This hybrid variety has been developed for professional cultivation; the variety is very uniform and has a relatively short growing period compared to the open-pollinated variety in our range. The variety is highly resistant to fusarium. Sow from early March to April, plant from early April to mid-May, harvest from early October to mid-November. Keep a planting distance of 75x40cm. Harvest sprouts from the plant, start at the bottom. Leave the plant for later harvest. Resistances (HR): Foc

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
