'Double white without thread' is a bean that is not very susceptible to mold in bad weather conditions. This pole bean is very tasty and tender. Sowing can start at the beginning of May. One bag is for approximately 14m2, and the planting distance is 45x10 cm.

Pole bean 'Double white without thread' is a tender and tasty bean that can be picked for quite a long time. Little susceptible to mold in bad/wet weather conditions. Never sow beans in cold and wet weather. When the weather is favourable enough, you can sow in rows from the beginning of May until July. Use a row distance of 45 to 50 cm; 1 seed per 10 cm in the row. Sowing in clumps at a distance of 45 x 45 cm with 4 beans together also works well. The harvest falls in the period July-October. 75 grams is sufficient for approximately 14 m². Do not give beans too much fertilizer!

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
