Flower mixture is very varied. It contains annual species such as Turkish dragonhead, California poppy, cow herb and small lupine. These species reach a height of approx. 60 cm. One bag is for approx. 10m2, and the planting distance is 30x1 cm.

This annual flower mixture, medium high reaches a height of approximately 60 cm. The mixture is very varied in both colour and plant species and contains: Turkish dragonhead, California poppy, cow herb and small lupine. The composition may differ slightly, depending on the availability of the various flowers during the sales season. Sow thinly in situ in April-May.

To avoid disappointment with flower mixtures, it is very important that the soil is well prepared. Make sure that the terrain is flat, superficially cultivated and free of weeds. A flower mixture cannot be sown through an already overgrown edge or lawn, because that gives a poor emergence; grass and weeds are very competitive.

Sow the flower mixture superficially broadcast or shallow in rows. When sowing in rows, it is easier to hoe in occasionally and such a mixture also looks very nice in rows. Another advantage of sowing in rows is that all plants get enough light and are less in competition with each other. It is optimal when the soil is pressed down after sowing, so that the seeds make good contact with the soil. Then water or wait for a shower.

Saving seeds

Store seeds in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a sealed box in a cupboard. Pay attention to the expiration date on the packaging and use them before that time. If the packaging has been opened, make sure it is sealed properly and check the germination capacity before use.

You can easily test the germination capacity of seeds with a germination test :

  1. Place a few seeds (for example 10) on a damp piece of kitchen paper.
  2. Fold the paper towel closed and place it in a plastic bag or place it in a sealed container.
  3. Place it in a warm place, such as on the windowsill.
  4. After a few days, check to see if the seeds have started to germinate.
