Dahlia 'Cornel' is a classic ball dahlia known for its deep red, perfectly round flowers. The compact petals form an elegant sphere. 'Cornel' is a true favorite among cut flower growers: reliable, productive, and with an intense color that adds depth and warmth to any bouquet. This dahlia also makes a powerful accent in the border and blooms for a long time from summer until frost.

Vase life
Vase life
Dahlias make beautiful cut flowers, but how long they last varies depending on the type:
- Ball and pompom dahlias : often 5 to 7 days.
- Dinnerplate dahlias (very large flowers) : average 4 to 6 days.
- Single-flowered dahlias (open heart) : usually 3 to 5 days.
With the right care, you can enjoy them for a long time. Ideally, cut the flowers early in the morning or evening and place the stems directly in water. Remove any leaves that might droop, change the water regularly, and avoid placing the vase in direct sunlight. This way, your dahlias will stay fresh and vibrant for longer.
Organic dahlias
Organic dahlias
We currently only have a small selection of organic dahlias. Not because we don't want to, but simply because there are almost no organic dahlias available in the Netherlands. Only one grower cultivates them, and it's quite complicated for farmers to switch, especially since there's almost no SKAL-certified soil available.
But... we're going to try to change that. We're already in discussions with growers, exploring how we can grow new varieties organically, and want to help farmers by offering them a good market. So yes, the supply is still limited, but behind the scenes, we're working to gradually expand and improve it.
