Combating spider mites with predatory mites. Phytoseiulus predatory mites are very good spider mite fighters. They feed exclusively on spider mites and actively search for them. That is why it is important to use phyto-mite as a treatment and you cannot use it preventively.

Phyto-Mite works best in a greenhouse or tunnel greenhouse. The predatory mites prefer a temperature between 22°C and 28°C. Phyto-mite works less well above 30°C and they cannot handle temperatures above 35°C. Choose Forni-mite for high temperatures.

The predatory mites are supplied in a tube. Scatter the contents of the tube on the affected leaves.

The sooner you intervene, the less predatory mites you need. Distributions vary from 30 to 250 predatory mites per m2.

Use 30 to 50 predatory mites per plant in case of light infestation (no webs, little leaf infestation).

Use 50 to 100 predatory mites per plant for moderate infestation (no webs, spots and yellow discoloured leaf tips).

Use 100 to 250 predatory mites per plant for heavy infestation (webs, yellow discoloured leaves). In case of heavy infestation, also cut away the worst affected leaves before releasing the predatory mites.

The predatory mites can also be used on fruit trees or grapevines (and therefore also in your vineyard). To estimate how many predatory mites you need to use, calculate the number of m2 of affected leaf surface and multiply this by the number of predatory mites in relation to the infestation (see above).

Since these are live insects, it is important to immediately spread the predatory mites over your affected plants on the day of receipt. You can keep them in the packaging material until the evening. This way we can assure you of the best quality. Can't you release them immediately? Then store them horizontally for a maximum of 1 day in the refrigerator at approximately 7°c (note, most refrigerators are set colder!).

Tip : After 14 days you should see a clear improvement. If so, you should repeat the treatment.
