Kraunema contains nematodes to combat the larvae of the yew beetle. Kraunema is applied curatively. Outside, Kraunema can be used in March-April and August-November. In a greenhouse or inside (orangery) Kraunema can be used all year round because the larvae are also present in the soil all year round. The soil must be moist and have a minimum soil temperature of 5°C. The substrate must remain moist for 2 to 4 weeks after application. Do not apply in full sun. The nematodes penetrate the larvae through natural body openings and then excrete bacteria - with which they live in symbiosis - into the host. The bacteria are fatal to the larvae. The larvae turn light yellow and die within 2 days. The nematodes multiply in the dead larva, causing a new generation to develop that goes in search of new prey. For 10 m2. The product can be stored for a minimum of 1 week at 5°C, to be used before the expiry date.
