Tips and care

• Planting: soak the tubers in a bowl of lukewarm water for about 12 hours before planting so they can absorb moisture. Plant them in spring (March to May) for summer blooms, or in autumn (September to October) for early spring blooms. Choose a sunny spot in well-drained soil and plant them about 5 cm deep.

• Maintenance: water regularly during growth and bud formation, but avoid keeping the soil too wet. Picking flowers regularly encourages the plant to produce new buds.

• Overwintering: Anemone coronaria is moderately hardy. For autumn plantings, cover the soil well with a layer of leaves, straw, or compost during frost periods.

• Garden beds or pots: very suitable for the front of the border, in rock gardens, and as colorful filling in decorative pots on the patio or balcony.
