Tips and care

• Planting: plant the tubers in the spring (April to May) as soon as the risk of night frost has passed. Choose a sunny to lightly shaded spot with nutritious, well-draining soil. Plant the tuber about 6 to 8 cm deep.

• Maintenance: water regularly during the growing season to keep the soil slightly moist. Remove faded flowers by gently pulling them off at the base of the stem.

• Overwintering: Zantedeschia is not winter-hardy. Dig up the tubers in the autumn before the first frost, let them dry, and store them in a cool, frost-free place until spring.

• Open ground or pots: looks particularly elegant in decorative pots on the patio or balcony, but also shows off beautifully in a sunny spot in the border.
