Stenema contains nematodes to combat potting soil fly larvae, fruit fly larvae in compost and thrips pupae. The nematodes penetrate the larvae through natural body openings and then excrete bacteria - with which they live in symbiosis - into the host. The bacteria are fatal to the larvae. The larvae turn light yellow and die within 2 days. The nematodes multiply in the dead larvae, causing a new generation of nematodes to develop that goes in search of new prey. The soil temperature of the soil ( potting soil ) must be at least 10°C and sufficiently moist. Do not apply in full sun. For a treatment of 5 to 10 m2 of soil surface or 500 l of potting soil / compost . The product can be stored for at least 1 week at 5°C, to be used before the expiration date.
