Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana' (Glory Lily) - 1 piece

The Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana' (also known as the Glory Lily or Climbing Lily) is one of the most spectacular and tropical appearances for the patio, porch, or garden. This unique climber stands out with its flaming, recurved petals in fiery red with wavy, bright yellow edges and protruding stamens. Using small tendrils at the tips of its leaves, the plant gracefully climbs up a support or trellis. With this extra-large quality tuber (size 15/20), you can grow a powerful eye-catcher that will continue to surprise you with its exotic floral splendor from midsummer well into the autumn.

Tips and care

• Planting: plant the tuber in the spring (April to May) when temperatures rise. Use a spacious pot or a sheltered spot in light, well-draining, and nutritious soil. Lay the tuber carefully on its side at a depth of about 5 to 8 cm, as the growth point is delicate.

• Maintenance: provide the plant with a climbing support or obelisk as soon as it starts to sprout. During the active growth and flowering phase, provide regular water and nutrients, but ensure excess water can drain well to prevent tuber rot.

• Overwintering: the Glory Lily is not hardy. Once the leaves turn yellow in the autumn, stop watering and let the soil dry out. Remove the tuber from the pot or soil and store it in a dry, cool, and frost-free place (approx. 12-15°C) until the following spring.

• Garden or pots: looks best in a beautiful decorative pot on a warm patio, balcony, or in a conservatory, where the trellis allows the fiery flowers to truly shine.
