Plant garlic white - 'Precosem Hardneck' (choose number of bulbs)

Precosem garlic is a new hardneck variety with purple and cream colored cloves. This garlic matures quickly and is perfect for early harvesting as 'green garlic' (similar to spring onions) in the period April-June. Each bulb contains approximately 12 cream colored cloves. This variety has a shorter shelf life, making it ideal for processing quickly after harvest.

  •  Planting period: In open ground, from October to mid-November
  •  Planting distance: 15 cm between plants, 25 cm between rows
  •  Planting depth: 5 to 10 cm deep (if the soil is loose, the garlic can be planted deeper)
  •  Harvest time: End of June to mid-August

There are 2 types of garlic seed potatoes: hardneck and softneck.

  • The garlic we know from the supermarket and from the garden centre if nothing is mentioned is 'softneck' garlic. The foliage is quite flexible compared to the garlic bulb. The softneck garlic has a clove or 10-14.
  • The hardneck garlic is smaller in bulb but has 6 to 8 larger cloves and also peels easier. In the center there is also a flower stalk which in this case is not a problem at all and comes naturally.
