Plant shallot 'Longor' (choose weight)

The Sjalor Longor, often known as the French shallot, is known for its pink color and spicy taste, similar to the red shallot. In a bag of 1 kg are about 40 long shallots with a size of 30-45 mm.

This shallot thrives on all types of soil, with a preference for humus-rich sandy and loamy soils that are not too wet. Fertilization can be done in the same way as with onions. The Sjalor Longor is ideal for those looking for shallots with a distinctive taste and good growth results.

  • Planting period : From September to October
  • Planting distance : : Plant them in rows 30 cm apart and 15 cm between the plants.
  • Planting depth : Plant the shallot so that the top is just above in sandy soil and plant them slightly higher in clay soil (with the top and 0.5 cm of the shallot above). Plant them in the current year's potato bed in loose, well-drained soil. Tarred compost is fine, avoid fresh manure.
  • Harvest : August
